This bus is dedicated to Martyn Henderson, who sadly passed away in July 2017 following a battle with cancer.

He had started out as a driver with Stagecoach in 2008, and had become Assistant Garage Operations Manager at Romford garage. He had been supported by Macmillan throughout his treatment.

Stagecoach announced a £50,000 partnership with Macmillan in 2018, and repainted 10301 green. The bus was then named Martyn Henderson, to commemorate his passing. 10301 was also reregistered WLT546, a registration once carried by RM546.

Carole Heffernan, the Macmillan Area Fundraising Manager for London, told a local newspaper: “Every day, more than 90 Londoners hear the devastating news they have cancer – that’s enough people to fill a Number 86 bus.

“And with that number set to possibly double by 2030, Macmillan Cancer Support will be needed more than ever to help people with cancer find their best way through.

“This exciting new partnership with Stagecoach sees the launch of a Macmillan-branded bus commemorating a much-loved colleague, Martyn Henderson.

“It will also see Stagecoach employees undertaking fundraising challenges and events to raise money in Martyn’s memory over the next two years.”
